Children's Life
2020 Video Christmas Pageant
Dear Parishioners,
This year we are having a Christmas Pageant, but we plan on doing it in a video format. We’ve set up times for parents and kids to safely come the church. Our hope is to video children in their costumes coming down the aisle and around the manger. Later we will splice the pieces together.
Below we list are the parts we hope to fill and the age ranges. You are more than welcome to come with your own costume. Grownups and older teens can play Mary & Joseph, kings, and shepherds if they wish.
Our plan is to have just one family per time slot for all the current social distancing and health reasons. We are allowing an hour slot for each family unit. After costumes are on, the total filming time will only be about 5 to 10 minutes. It will save time if you know which character your child wants to play beforehand so we can have those costume choices laid out. We ask that everyone wear a mask. Kids can remove the mask for the video time.
We would love to have your kids participate. Our scheduled times are:
Friday, Dec. 4th at 3, 4, 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 5th at 9, 10, 11, & 12 noon
Sunday, Dec. 6th at 1 and 2:00 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 7th at 3, 4, and 5:00 p.m.
We can also schedule some other times, so if none of those work call to arrange another time. If you know you cannot come to the Church to film, contact us and we can see about you doing a home video in a format we can splice in.
We do have an age range we are using.
0 to 2 – Baby Jesus
2 to 4 – Animals and Angels
5 – 9 – Animals, Angels, Shepherds, Kings
10 on up – Mary, Joseph, Animals, Angels, Shepherds, Kings
One advantage of this format is that we are not limited to just 3 kings, or 1 Mary and Joseph. We will use clips from everyone who participates.
During the Christmas Eve services we will have live readers and live music with the pre-recorded video. The best way to set up a time is to call the church office at 956-723-5714, or Father Paul at 956-285-2753 to set up a video time.
