Parish updates for Advent and Christmas

Gratitude – As we move from Thanksgiving to focus on the Nativity we are grateful for your generosity! We currently have 28 pledges / estimates of giving for 2022 for a total of $140,395. This is a wonderful start to our stewardship for next year.
And we are very thankful to have five people who’ve been nominated for Vestry, our board of directors. We are still hoping for at least one more nominee as we have 6 slots to fill.  The nominees in alphabetical order are:  Sergio Dominguez, Elena Holloway, Alaster Love, Cathey Moore, and Richard “Dick” Sames.
We continue to have in person services at 8 and 11 a.m. in English and en Espanol a las 9:00 a.m.  The 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. are also streamed live on Facebook. We are thankful for all of you who worship with us in person and online.
Stations of the Nativity - Starting this Tuesday, today, we will have stations of the Nativity. We will start at 12 noon and finish at 12:30. We will do this on Tuesday and Thursday through December 23rd.  See the stations we will be praying here: Stations of the Nativity
Possible Christmas Pageant - We hope to have a Christmas pageant but need to hear from parents of preschool and elementary school kids. Let us know if you plan on your child being in the pageant the early evening of Christmas Eve, Friday, Dec. 24th.  Please email or text Fr. Paul at 956-285-2753 or pafreycc@gmail.com.
We hope to have 4 rehearsals, one on Sunday, Dec. 12th. The children will leave the service during the sermon time to practice. The next will be on Saturday morning Dec. 18th, and a last rehearsal on Sunday December 19th.  So if you intend for your child to be part of the pageant we need to hear from you by this Friday, December 3rd to see if we have a sufficient number of kids to make it work.   It may be that with the current Covid situation we put the pageant on hold for one more year and we will do something a bit different and wait one more year.
White Elephant Exchange – Our White Elephant exchange of gently used, sometimes useful, and sometimes silly, and sometimes in between items will be on Dec. 11 starting at 6 p.m. at Paul and Anne Frey’s home 139 Kentucky.  (956) 285-2753.  The “rules” can be found here: White Elephant Fun.
Christmas Eve Choir – If you would like to join the Choir for Christmas Eve, please let Colin Campbell know.  Email him at colin.ccmusic@gmail.com  choir will be rehearsing each Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
Poinsettia for Christmas Eve – This year we have already placed an order for poinsettias to decorate our church building for Christmas Eve and the three Sunday’s following, (Dec. 26, and January 2nd and 9th.  If you would like to give one or more in memory or in thanksgiving for loved ones, we would gladly accept a donation. They cost the parish $11 each. You can give that in any way you choose, check, cash, PayPal. Most importantly, please let us know the names of your loved ones before or by December 17th. Because of the time it takes for printing we cannot guarantee including the names of your loved ones after that date.
