Ash Wednesday is February 26, 2020.
We have Ashes on the Go for folks who can't make it to a service. Ministers will be placing ashes on peoples foreheads from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Christ Church in the parking lot on the corner of Martin and Fremont streets. We will also have a 12 noon and 7 p.m. service that day. The ashes remind us of our deep need of God and God’s promise of bringing resurrection to things that are dead.
There are several opportunities to deepen your spiritual walk with God this Lent. They include:
On the first Sunday in Lent, March 1st and on Palm Sunday, April 5 we will have our regular potluck parish luncheons. It is a really good chance to get to know one another and support each other with a meal and fellowship.
Every week from 10:30 to 11:30 Tuesday morning Bible Study - Meets in parishioners home. Call the church office at 956-723-5714 for location. Book being used is - "Inspired" by Rachel Held Evans
Every week from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Volunteer to help pack and distribute food to food bank participants each Wednesday at Christ Church in the Parish Hall
Every week Holy Communion - Wednesday's at 12 noon in the Chapel during Lent.
Each week 7-8 p.m. Wednesday evening Bible study, meets at the Church in the Mary Cook Room in the parish hall. Book being used is - "Inspired" by Rachel Held Evans
Each week 8 to 8:15 p.m. Wednesday night, short informal Holy Communion service which follows the Bible Study, also in the Mary Cook Room
Each week 10:00 to 10:10 a.m. Intercessory prayer for Christ Church Capital Campaign and other concerns. This is a group phone call. Call in a few minutes before 10 at 515-604-9790 and use access code 159102. Announce yourself and you can pray for your concerns with others during the call.
