Christmas is coming! We kicked off the first Sunday of Advent with a family friendly sermon, making Advent Chains. This week we welcome the Reverend Joann Saylors, from the Diocese of West Texas staff. She will be our guest preacher at the 11:00 a.m. service.
Yes, this Sunday is our first Sunday of the month Parish Luncheon. Join us for food and fellowship after the 11:00 a.m. service. Joe Rubio will have his signature BBQ chicken. Bring something to share.
As part of our Advent Preparation, we are getting our Church New Years Resolutions in motion. During our Parish Luncheon, Edward Glassford (our Senior Warden) will be giving you a chance to "vote" with some stickers on the strategies our Planning Group has compiled. (Click here to see the goals and the various strategies brainstormed so far for accomplishing them.)
Sprucing things up
Also, thanks to the hard work of Jim Moore, Rich Gillard, and others, we are sprucing up the Parish Hall with a fresh coat of paint and some minor repairs.
This Sunday we begin our Christmas Pageant rehearsals. Children will leave right after the Children's sermon and learn some of parts, and some of the music for Christmas Eve. Contact Mallory Miles at 956-220-7427 if your child or grandchild wants to participate but won't be here this Sunday.
Are you scheduled to serve?
Don't forget to check our calendar to see if you are scheduled as an Acolyte, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Usher, or Nursery Worker.
