Why should I bother forgiving people who hurt me?
How does forgiveness actually work? Why bother? Does it really matter? What about really evil behavior-does God expect me to forgive that? And if I want to forgive but just can't being myself to do so, what then? This Sunday at Christ Church Episcopal, Laredo, Texas.

STEWARDSHIP ....From Father Paul Frey:
Welcome - Worship - Grow - Give
We believe our mission at Christ Church is first to welcome people into a loving community of Christians who care for, and support one another. Secondly to learn how to grow closer to God through worship:prayer, sacrament, and study. Thirdly we hope that we will grow, meeting God, learning the Bible, and how God can use our abilities and gifts, so we can give of ourselves in response to God, the greatest giver of all.
Last year, I sent out a letter as we began our Stewardship campaign. It contained what we lovingly call an "Estimate of Giving Card." We changed the name from "Pledge Card" for a reason. We know that financial situations can improve and decline over the course of a year. Our hope is that many of us actually have a better year than we expect. But as we have seen so dramatically, life is not as predictable as we think.
This year we will send out the letter, but I am asking you to NOT fill out a card until you have taken several weeks to pray and ask God what your giving should be. In addition you will get information about our endowment funds and how we hope to make those increase so that the generations that come after us can be blessed by our fiscally responsible decisions.
