What is a “White Elephant” gift exchange?
The gift exchange is a party game and a chance to have fun. Each person who comes brings a wrapped or boxed gift that is usually something used, that they no longer use or want so that there are as many gifts as there are people at the event.. This can range from tools to kitchen gadgets to decorative items, to toys. The items are not broken but just no longer wanted by the owner. They can also be something new, such as a gift that you got for birthday, Christmas, etc. that you don’t want or need. And the funnier the item the better. For several years at Christ Church, a costume Viking helmet complete with horns, was a repeat gift from various prior recipients. Join us at:

A short break in our journey through “The Story
For 13 weeks we’ve been moving through God’s story from Genesis and into the books of 1st and 2nd Samuel, We’ve gone from Adam and Eve to David and Bathsheba and much more in between. But now we will take a brief break.
I hope that reading the story and going through it on Sunday and perhaps attending one of the various bible studies has given you a deeper perspective on the way God has worked, and continues to work through people and human history.
We will start back with “The Story” on Sunday January 13, with Chapter 13, “The King who had it all”. So, if you have fallen behind in your reading you have a few weeks to catch up. And if you are up to date, you can read ahead!
But now, for the next 3 weeks we are going to focus on another part of the story, a part we visit every year. We are going to focus on Jesus first coming and all that led up to that famous birth and on Jesus own teaching about himself that he will come again.

Christmas memorials – Poinsettias and Ribbons
This year we will be decorating with poinsettias. Please let us know if you are planning to bring poinsettias in memory or in thanksgiving for people in your lives and send us their names so we can include them in our bulletins on Christmas Eve, December 30th and January 6th.
In addition, starting this Sunday we will have a Christmas tree where you can hang a paper ribbon with the names of loved ones. We will also keep this up through Sunday January, 16th.
