Jesus had family issues. They thought he’d become way too religious. How do you balance loving God and loving your family?

Life Line Screening: Life Line Screening, a leading provider of community based preventive health screenings, will offer their affordable, non-invasive and painless health screenings at Christ Church Episcopal on 7/23/2018. A NOTE FROM THE PASTOR
Thy Kingdom Come
Some of you really were grateful for the 9 days of prayer, Thy Kingdom Come, that we observed from Ascension to Pentecost. If you would like to be part of a regular prayer time, meeting at the church, or a conference call prayer time, please let Father Paul know. He will be working on setting those up later this June.
Summer Reminders: Blessing and Challenges
Each season brings it's own blessings and challenges. Summer is no different. We are blessed with longer days, often a chance for vacation, water sports, and for lots of kids no school! Each of those is a blessing for some and a challenge for others.
As a parish we have our own blessings and challenges.
Three of our challenges each summer are:
1) A drop in financial giving to the parish as people are out of town, AC bills are higher, etc.
2) Keeping the AC up and running and paying the electric bills
3) Scheduling people for Sunday morning ministries such as ushers, acolytes, etc.
Some of our many blessings as a parish are:
1) Greeting new people who have moved to Laredo, or moved in Laredo, and are often looking for a parish home.
2) Having a chance to gear up for the Fall programs and events
3) For people on vacation, a chance to visit other churches and bring back some of what they learn from other folks preaching and worship.
I hope that you will help us with our parish opportunities and challenges as we carry on through this Summer.
In Christ - Fr. Paul Frey
