The first time I told a friend who lives in Washington, D.C. that Laredo had a big Washington's birthday celebration, that lasted most of the month of February, there was dead silence on the phone. Finally they replied, "You're kidding right?!" This weekend is packed with celebrations celebrating Washington's birthday. On Sunday we will give thanks for George Washington, and for his legacy.

Renewal of Wedding Vows
Last week we had a time for renewal of Wedding Vows in the chapel after the 11:00 a.m. service. Felicidades to all the couples who were able to do so! We also had one couple in our parish that had their civil marriage blessed, later that afternoon. Please congratulate our custodian Cayetano Almaguer and his wife Frances on their celebration this past Sunday afternoon.
The Reverend Samira Izadi
On March 4th and 5th in Corpus Christi, the Bishop Elliot Society will be hosting Samira Izadi, an Episcopal priest in Dallas who works with refugees. A former Muslim, she will talk about that journey and the work she now does. To register go here.
