rayers for Teachers and Students
This Sunday we will pray for teachers and students of all ages at each of our services, 8, 9. and 11. "O Eternal God, bless all schools, colleges, and universities that they may be lively centers for sound learning, new discovery, and the pursuit of wisdom; and grant that those who teach and those who learn may find you to be the source of all truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." From the 1979 Book of Common Prayer, page 824

Teaching our children about God
We will be starting our Sunday School program back up this coming September starting on September 17th. We are blessed to have 4 teachers, one for each week of the month.
It would be GREAT if each of them had an aid or helper. If you would like to be a Sunday School helper, you must be at least 13 and no older than 95.
What is required? - 2 things. First we will ask you to participate in the Safeguarding God's children workshop, a 3 hour workshop.
Second, a willing heart to help the teacher and students on a Sunday morning. It might be guiding a particular student, helping the kids get from the church service to the classroom and back, straightening the room after the kids leave, etc.
When do I do it? - Our Sunday School classes take place during the sermon time at the 11 a.m. service. The kids leave right after the Children's sermon and return during the Passing of the Peace.
How much time is involved? On Sundays you will be on duty from 11:15 till @ 11:45 or about 35 to 40 minutes.
Is Jesus prejudiced? He seems to behave really harshly in this Sunday's Gospel. How do we deal with this story that we find starting Matthew 15:21? Find out by joining us this Sunday, August 20th.
