Does God Love Me?
How can you tell if God really does love you? How can you tell if there actually is a God? If it is true, why do many people suffer so much? Does God love you no matter what you do or believe? These are questions we will tackle this Sunday.
Getting Ready for Easter Sunday, April 1st
Lent will be halfway over this coming Sunday, March 11th. And as Easter draws closer we are making plans to celebrate that Sunday. Our focus is on the Resurrection of Jesus. And we have some customs that help us celebrate the joy of that event.
First - we decorate around the altar with Easter Lillies. Typically people bring lillies in memory or in thanksgiving for loved ones.
Second - We encourage families with children to bring some cut flowers. During the opening music we put flowers on a cross as part of our remembering Jesus victory of life over death.
Third - after church we have a blow out plastic Easter Egg and Cascarones hunt! We celebrate the outrageous joy of Easter.
Finally - while we usually have a parish luncheon the first Sunday of the month, we are moving it foward to Sunday the 8th, since so much else is happening on Easter Day.
Habitat For Humanity Spring Break Builders
This coming week, we will host 15 or so college students from Augsburg University in Minnesota. (Believe it or not they are called the Auggies!) They are part of several college groups giving up their spirng break to build Habitat homes here in Laredo. They are living in our parish hall classrooms during the evening and working during the day. If you would like to bring snacks or breakfast tacos some morning next week, let us know. Contact the church office and we can help coordinate things: 956-723-5714 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
