Church Leaders - Vestry

Back
What is the Vestry?
The Vestry is a group of 9 leaders who serve on the church board, to work with the pastor to implement the vision, goals, programs, and ministry of Christ Church.  Vestry members serve a 3 year term. Each year 3 people rotate off, and 3 new members start their 3 year terms.  The group usually meets once a month.

How are the leaders chosen?
The members are elected by the congregation at an annual meeting each January.

How are they nominated?
Vestry members are nominated by anyone in the congregation. They must be baptized members with leadership ability, who come to worship regularly, and who are donors to the life and ministry of the church.
You can nominate yourself. Nominations should be sent to the office before the annual meeting if possible.

Who can attend meetings?
Vestry meetings are public business meetings. The Vestry makes financial and policy decisions as well as keeping tabs on the spiritual life of the parish. Check the church calendar for the meeting days and times or call the church office to find the date of the next meeting.
