Getting Ready for Christmas 2025 at Christ Church

As Christmas approaches, we do a few things to help us focus on why we celebrate Christmas.
We start this coming weekend when we set up our parish nativity with a fun, kid friendly party.

Saturday - Dec. 13th - Happy Birthday Jesus!
This Saturday from 4 to 6 we will have our 3rd Annual "Happy Birthday Jesus" party.
Please join us with your little ones. And teens are welcome to come and help. More details will be in an email later this week.

We continue with some quieter meditative times midweek at the lunch hour..
Stations of the Nativity - Tuesdays and Thursdays
Starting tomorrow, Dec. 9th each Tuesday and Thursday from 12:15 to 12:45 during the lunch hour, thru Dec. 23rd
we will once again have a quiet short informal service "Stations of the Nativity" in the church.
We walk thru the church remembering the events leading up to Jesus' birth.

And on the eve of the Savior's birth we gather to celebrate!
Christmas Pageant & Christmas eve service, Dec. 24th
Our Christmas Eve service will begin at 5:30 on Christmas Eve.
All kids from 4 on up are welcome to participate. Details will follow in an email later this week.

Remembering our loved ones
We will continue to have ribbons available during our Sunday Services thru Dec. 7th so you may write the names of people who have died, as we remember them and offer the ribbons as a sign of our love and gratitude to God for them.
Camp Registrations Open! Registration for Family Camp, Camp Capers, & Duncan Park are now open. Sessions fill up quickly! FYI: Fr. Paul will be serving as Chaplain of Family Camp Session #10, July 30th - August 2nd. Go to https://www.dwtx.org/what-we-do/camps-conferences or use the QR code in the picture.
This Sunday November 16th. Stewardship Ingathering
We love to bless pledge cards! That small card represents a sacrifice on your part that we want to honor and offer to God. On November 16th we will offer the 2026 pledge cards during the offering. You can come forward to place them on the altar or you may place them in the offering plate. Thank all of you for your faithfulness.
Christmas Events
We hope to have our Happy Birthday Jesus party on Saturday, Dec. 13th from 5 to 8 p.m. Then on Sunday morning we will do the Children’s Christmas Pageant will take place on Sunday, Dec. 14 at the 11 a.m. service. Costume fitting and rehearsals will start on Sunday, Nov. 16th. We are looking for adult and teen helpers for both events. Call Fr. Paul for more info. 956-285-2753.
Helping with our food program!
You can make a difference in a family’s life. Almost every Saturday of the year, with the help of the South Texas Food Bank we give canned goods, bread, and more to our neighbors through our New Leaven Food Ministry. See the sign up sheet in the church entry and come on Saturday. We start the set up @ 8 a.m. and wrap un the clean up by @ 11:45 a.m. We can use you for anytime in between.

Continuaremos ofreciendo cintas hasta el 7 de Diciembre para escribir los nombres de las personas que han fallecido, para recordarlos y ofrecer amor y gratitud a Dios durante por ellos.

Este domingo 16 de Noviembre Recolección de Ofrendas
¡Nos encanta bendecir las tarjetas de compromiso! Esa pequeña tarjeta representa un sacrificio de su parte que queremos honrar y ofrecer a Dios. El 16 de noviembre ofreceremos las tarjetas de compromiso de 2026 durante la colecta. Pueden acercarse para colocarlas en el altar o en el plato de ofrendas. Gracias a todos por su fidelidad.
Eventos navideñas
Esperamos celebrar nuestra fiesta de Feliz Cumpleaños Jesús el sábado 13 de diciembre de 5:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. El domingo 14 de diciembre, durante la misa de las 11:00 a. m., se llevará a cabo la representación navideña infantil. Las pruebas de vestuario y los ensayos comenzarán el domingo 16 de noviembre. Buscamos voluntarios adultos y adolescentes para ambos eventos. ¡Ayúdanos con nuestro programa de alimentos!
Puedes marcar la diferencia en la vida de una familia. Casi todos los sábados del año, con la ayuda del Banco de Alimentos del Sur de Texas, entregamos alimentos enlatados, pan y más a nuestros vecinos a través de nuestro Ministerio de Alimentos New Leaven. Busca la hoja de inscripción en la entrada de la iglesia y vengan algún sábado. Empezamos a preparar todo a las 8:00 a. m. y terminamos de limpiar a las 11:45 a. m. ¡Tu ayuda es bienvenida en cualquier momento entre esas horas!
