This coming Sunday May 25th, will be the last time we run our Mother's Day slide show. It is also the day before Memorial Day and we will be praying for all those who gave their lives in service to our country. Thy Kingdom Come – Starting on Ascension May, 29th thru Pentecost Sunday, June 8th. Join us for a 10 days of short conference call prayer. Each the morning at 7 a.m. and evening at 8 p.m. Fr. Paul will call in and be there to lead about 2 minutes before the morning and evening times. Note: Since 2017 for the last 8 years a group of us at Christ Church pray for 5 people for 10 days, from Ascension, which is always on a Thursday until Pentecost Sunday, 10 days later. We’d love to have more folks join us! See our webpage for more.
Father’s Day - In a few weeks on Sunday June 15th, we will run a slide show for Father’s day so Ideally get your Father's day pics to Father Paul by June 12. Email them to [email protected] or text them to 956-285-2753. (If you text them let him know who you are in case he doesn’t recognize your number. Again, if you are late with your pictures send them anyway as we will be running the slide show on Sunday June 22 and 29.
Newcomer soup and salad – Stay tuned. If you are new to Christ Church and want to know more about us and how to get more involved, we are hosting 3 dinners this summer. The first will be at Father Paul and Anne Frey’s home. Please sign up in the parish lobby for our first one on Sunday, June 22, from 4 to 7. Or you can email the parish at: [email protected] and let us know how many of you are attending.
Scratch the surface Summer Studies – Our Wednesday night study is going to take on some “Hot Topics” this Hot Summer and see what we might learn from the bible and one another. These will be in a hybrid format, you can come in person or online. Topics will include things like sports, money, marriage, divorce, music, art, and more. A short description with bible passages and questions will be online at the end of May.
WHY we believe – WHAT we believe - A few weeks back, Pastor Judith mentioned that this year is the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed. This Fall we’ll be starting a Study of the Creed on Wednesday evening. Why do we say we believe these things and why does it matter? We’ll do the study in a hybrid format; you can come in person or online and each session will be designed to stand alone so you can drop in for lots of them or just one or two and be able to participate. Details will be available in July.

Cada mañana a las 7:00 a. m. y cada tarde a las 8:00 p. m. El Padre Paul llamará y estará presente para dirigir la oración unos 2 minutos antes de los horarios de la mañana y la tarde. Nota: Desde 2017 y durante los últimos 8 años, un grupo de la Iglesia de Cristo ora por 5 personas durante 10 días, desde la Ascensión, que siempre es un jueves, hasta el Domingo de Pentecostés, 10 días después. ¡Nos encantaría que más personas se unieran! Día del Padre - En unas semanas, el domingo 15 de junio, realizaremos una presentación de diapositivas para el Día del Padre, así que lo ideal es que envíes tus fotos del Día del Padre al Padre Paul antes del 12 de junio. POR QUÉ creemos – QUÉ creemos: Hace unas semanas, la pastora Judith mencionó que este año se celebra el 1700 aniversario del Credo de Nicea. Este otoño comenzaremos un estudio del Credo los miércoles por la noche. ¿Por qué creemos en estas cosas y por qué es importante? Realizaremos el estudio en formato híbrido; pueden asistir presencialmente o en línea, y cada sesión será independiente, así que podrán asistir a varias o solo a una o dos y participar. Los detalles estarán disponibles en julio.
